Student delegates will arrive after Shabbat on Saturday, January 17. The Redstone Leadership Forum will formally begin on Sunday, January 18, and conclude at 6:15 PM on Monday, January 19. It will include seminar discussion, professional development workshops, a friends and partners showcase, and keynote conversations with religious, intellectual, and political leaders.
- Seminars focus on the enduring human dilemmas, the defining intellectual and moral advancements, and the national and religious contributions of the Jewish tradition. Delegates will select from a menu of great essays and speeches, guided by Tikvah’s faculty and guest speakers.
- “Off-the-record” addresses from notable political, intellectual, and business leaders that illuminate pivotal issues in contemporary Jewish and American life.
- Career focused breakout sessions with rising talent and seasoned experts in key professional sectors of American life: journalism and media, domestic and foreign policy, STEM, law, education and academia, and business. Both well-established leaders and prominent young professionals will provide practical advice and a model of how to flourish as a Jew and as an American after graduation.
- A strategic assessment of Tikvah’s approach and strategy for building a generation of leaders: we will look at the situation on the ground and how Jewish students should respond. Delegates will determine best practices for leading and building campus initiatives and debate what it means to “take action,” as well as how to navigate the classroom and potential key allies on campus.
- Friends and partners showcase highlighting professional programs and opportunities offered by affiliate organizations, as well as Tikvah’s own programs
- A conference-wide discussion of Michel Houellebecq’s troubling prophetic novel Submission with leading journalists, academics, and scholars
- Networking opportunities with Tikvah young professionals: ambitious and morally confident alumni of Tikvah’s college fellowships, eager to welcome Redstone alumni into their ranks.
Student delegates to the Redstone Leadership Forum will develop the social, intellectual, and moral resources to strengthen Jewish life on their home campuses, creating and strengthening Tikvah Chapters in which Jewish students stand tall as voices of Jewish courage.
